If anyone's interested... I've written an experimental, unoffical fluxbox-cvs ebuild. It's getting ready for the expected death-of-commonbox stuff, so you'll probably want to unmerge commonbox* and regular fluxbox first.
link the first
For decent themes, you'll want ikaro's stuff, or pester tseng for a fluxbox-themes ebuild 
link the second (install to /usr/share/fluxbox/styles/)
As usual with unofficial ebuilds, bugs to me please (ciaranm@g.o), not through bugzilla. Failure to comply will lead to execution by spork by carpaski.
If anyone's interested, this is part of my evil scheme to get a stable fluxbox 0.9.x release onto the Gentoo 2004.0 Sparc64 release. |

Nope. It's a top secret plan being hatched by tseng in his Underground Lair. It involves sharks with frickin' laser beams attatched to their frickin' heads. |

It was the frickin' reference that showed me I could trust you. (No, I'm not Dutch.. isn't THAT cool)
1) I downloaded your ebuild to my PORTDIR_OVERLAY and ran a digest
2) closed fluxbox / dropped out of X
3) emerge -C fluxbox
4) emerge fluxbox-cvs
5) I came back a little while later and found it finished. I started it up and everything looked *exactly* the same as before.
6) Just to be sure I actually did something new, I opened a term and ...
