I've been trying to get vpopmail setup with qmail by using some of the howtos on the forum but I have not been able to get around this prob
whenever I try to add a domain with vpopmail it does this:
celeron0 bin # /var/vpopmail/bin/vadddomain my.domain.com

Segmentation fault
I've searched both these forums and just around the 'net and haven't been able to find a fix
does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? |

What C**FLAGS are you using ?
Also check permissions/owership of /var/vpopmail dirs. |

Hello,
I've got EXACTLY the same problem!
I've disabled ALL CFLAGS to no avail. I've checked the permission and ownership of the vpopmail config file:
-rw-r----- 1 vpopmail vpopmail 429 Jan 7 23:30 /etc/vpopmail.conf
and the /var/vpopmail:
-(~:#)-> ls -al /var/vpopmail/
total 28
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Jan 7 20:46 ./
drwxr-xr-x 17 root root 4096 Jan 6 12:14 ../
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 6 12:14 bin/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 33 Jan 7 20:46 doc -> /usr/share/doc/vpopmail-5.2.1-r8//
drwxr-xr-x 2 vpopmail vpopmail 4096 Jan 7 23:29 domains/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 6 12:14 etc/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Jan 6 12:14 include/
drwx------ 2 root root 4096 Jan 6 12:14 lib/
I can't see where the problem is
Any insight at all?
Please?
Chris
EDIT:
-(~:#)-> uname -a
Linux evolve.amoose.com 2.6.0-gentoo #5 SMP Fri Dec 19 17:59:22 GMT 2003 i686 Pentium II (Deschutes) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux |

It seems that vpopmail has problem with libmysqlclient.
I've compiled vpopmail without MySQL support and it work good.
I have tried to play with CCFLAGS same problem ( SegFault )
* net-mail/vpopmail
Latest version available: 5.2.1-r9
Latest version installed: 5.2.1-r9
* dev-db/mysql
Latest version available: 4.0.16
Latest version installed: 4.0.16
2.4.20-gentoo-r7
This is as far as I could investigate
Best Regards |

sorry to bump this ancient thread, but I am having this same problem. I have this all running on another box and it works fine. The biggest difference is the one having problems is an Athlon XP, the other is a pentium 2. |

I had the same problem too and after some research i found out that MYSQL_UPDATE_PASSWD and MYSQL_READ_PASSWD in /etc/vpopmail.conf take 11 chars max.
12 or more results in a Segmentation Fault. _________________ DrArcheh |
