|
|
I'm going to be installing a Gentoo install into my Laptop, and I want to be able to use my Wireless PCMCIA card. I don't own a router and I never was able to get the hub I have working with the new DSL modem I got when I moved from Korea. (Probably need to buy a new router for that)
Is it possible to do the network install on something other then a wired lan? My Modem does wireless connectivity, but I haven't been able to get it working in anything other then Windows. -_-
The Laptop is a Gateway Solo 1450 from 2002.
PIII 1Ghz
512 MB PC133 Ram
20GB Hard Drive
Ehternet and Covexant modem
1 PCMCIA 2/3 slot
The Wireless card is a Linksys WFC11 Wireless-B card.
Any help is apriciated. |

Heya mate, I have just successfully installed Gentoo via the Knoppix LiveCD.
So I really recommend this approach. |

I'm using the LivCD install from Stage 1. I suppose I can update everything ater I have it all working so it's no real problem wright now. |
