Is there a way I can set some keyboard shortcuts that *aren't* listed in the Keyboard Shortcut menu?
In 2.4 I don't see a way to minimize to desktop, or open a run prompt... and I'd like to add some commands in order to control XMMS from anywhere in Gnome (Like, Control+5... for example).
So I'm not sure where or how I can add these in Gnome 2.4, or maybe some kind of add-on app I could get, any ideas would help, thanks! |

I realize this thread is a bit old, but wanted to post a tip anyway...

I had the same question myself. From browsing other threads on the forums it appears that editing the metacity configuration files might allow this to work. (~/.gconf/{dir}...)
I have also heard that using the gconf editor can allow this somehow. However, the gconf interface requires external knowledge of what each option is and how things work (it is just a GUI front-end on the gconf files mentioned above). I'm sure there is good documentation on this somewhere -- I just don't know where it is.
To run the editor:
