Hi Folks,

i have a little problem with ma scsi-emulation....

i have 2 dvd burner
one is usb, the other one is ide.
the scsi-emulation works perfekt with the usb-burner.
this is what me get when me boot:
Dec 25 16:04:58 bigbrother kernel: scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Dec 25 16:04:58 bigbrother kernel: PM: Adding info for No Bus:host0
Dec 25 16:04:58 bigbrother kernel: Vendor: FREECOM_ Model: DVD+/-RW4B Rev: 1.30
Dec 25 16:04:58 bigbrother kernel: Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Dec 25 16:04:58 bigbrother kernel: sr0: scsi-1 drive

For the ide-burner me added the following lines to my menu.lst (grub):
kernel /bzImageTV2 root=/dev/hdd1 hdc=ide-scsi

but on boot its still ide:
Dec 25 16:26:08 bigbrother kernel: hdc: _NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
( the crazy thing on that is that /dev/hdc does not exist anymore O.o )

and also cdrecord -scanbus only show the usb-burner:
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'FREECOM_' 'DVD+/-RW4B ' '1.30' Removable CD-ROM
0,1,0 1) *
............

My try it without the usb-burner, but that also not work.
When me remove the hdc=ide-scsi in grub, the ide-burner is on /dev/hdc... so should be right :D

Sorry for my bad english!
Hope someone can help, but from tomorrow on me is on holiday, so my answer may take about
one week.

This is normal behaviour, don't worry about it. The drive that was previously accessible as hdc will be accessible using sr1. You should also edit fstab to reflect this. If you still have problems, try compiling ide-scsi into the kernel instead of compiling it as a module, this worked for me with the exact same drive. :)
