Hi!
Since I use Kernel 2.6 (currently test9) I always get an error when I access my HPFS partition, which is mounted during boot. |

FYI: I reported the bug to the kernel mailinglist and it was fixed in 2.6 stable. |

yeah, ive been very impressed with the bug reporting system used in linux... you report a bug in windows and MS sends you an automated reply and fixes it in the next year or so...
you report a bug in linux and the developer fixes it ASAP (i've had a bug with CVS apollon fixed for me in real time - told the dev on IRC and he said "I'll fix it now. 10 mins later he said "Ok try the latest CVS" and the bug was gone "
usually the next release contains the bugfix and the next release is always really soon if major bugs have been fixed
This all goes towards making linux a much better OS.
"Linux - got a problem, report it and its gone the next day*"
*dependant on developers spare time/understanding of the problem
This is why i love CVS packages - i love seeing software evolve over time
