AW Maya 5.0 on Radeon Performance

I am experiencing performance problems with maya under gentoo and i was wondering if someone who has experince with it could tell me which drivers for radeon 9600pro are the best for maya.
And the other thing is how could i solve this shift+alt problem.

The shift alt problem solution depends on which window manager you're using. In kde you can remap all the key bindings for shift and alt in the kcontrol dialogs. In blackbox you have to enable "scroll lock disables key bindings" and then turn on sscroll lock.
