I've recently switched to 2.6 kernel an now I'm in trouble with guardog FW. Only Guarddog > 2.1.8 support 2.6 kernel but it is not possible emerge GD 2.2 unless to introduce a *LOT* of development packages.
Moreover I'm get in a deadlock because even if I would introduce all these dev packages, when portage tries to emerge coreutils it is unable to do so because coreutils5.0.91 needs automake=>1.6 but automake need coureutil5.0.91
Some ideas or alternatives to guardog or other iptables frontend working with 2.6.0 kernel ?

Do you use a GUI for your firewall?
I've never used GuardDog so I'm not sure if it has any real-time GUI features or not. But any IPTables firewall script will work with Linux 2.4, or 2.6. So chances are, the firewall you built with GuardDog on 2.4 will work on 2.6.
I usually use Firestarter to build my firewalls, but I haven't tried it on 2.6. And the firewall I built on 2.4 works on 2.6.
