Sometimes fetchmail seems to balk when picking up a certain mailformed (spam) email from my pop server and throws up "query status=4 (protocol)" error (when my getmail script is run from command line)
It stops downloading further emails and keeps getting the last message over and over again, any ideas? |

I had a problem with fetchmail randomly dying. It was fixed with the forcecr option:
"set forcecr"
Looking at the fetchmail site it says this is a problem with Qmail (which is what I was using). Not sure if this will help you at all.
My problem was that fetchmail was just dying completely. The process would die and nothing would get logged in the fetchmail log file.
