Fail to add user to Samba

Hi:

When try to add user to samba using the comand:

smbpasswd -a <username>

and ask for the password and retype password appear this message:

LDAPS option set...!
fetch_ldap_pw: no ldap secret retrieved!
ldap_connect_system: Failed to retrieve password for from secrets.tdb
LDAPS option set...!
fetch_ldap_pw: no ldap secret retrieved!
ldap_connect_system: Failed to retrieve password for from secrets.tdb
Failed to add entry for user skynet.
Failed to modify password entry for user skynet

What is the problem?

Who knows ?
Did you mean to use LDAP for Samba authentication, or did that happen "totally by accident" ?

I follow this procedure:

1. emerge samba
2. make a minimal config on samba (workgroup, encrypted password)
3. smbpasswd -a <my user name>

in this point fail. I have kernel 2.6.5

I highly recommend the search feature, I personally have answered this question at least 4 or 5 times.

Re-emerge samba without the ldap flag and then add a user

I've tried re-emerging samba with the -ldap flag and it's still doing the same thing, i'm installing from the universal cd and using a package cd i downloaded... thanks for the help
