i have recelnty upgraded from 2.4.22 to 2.6test5
everything works ok apart from my modem
previously my modem was on /dev/ttyS0 but under 2.6 i dont have /dev/ttyS0
any help? _________________ 4 out of 5 voices in my head tell me im not crazy |

What serial options have you got in the kernel config? Are relevant modules getting loaded?
What's the output of dmesg | grep -i serial -A 5?

Do you have in the kernel choose the option "Charakter devices -> Serial drivers -> 8250/16550 ..."? |

In 2.6 you have all those things under /sys instead... there is, believe it or not, a reason devfs is deprecated.
Anyway, you have the serial ports under /sys/class/tty/ttyS[0-7]/dev |
