How do I setup cups to use SSL for remote web administration?
I don't want to use HTTP Digest authentication since I don't want extra passwords to maintain but I would like to use SSL encryption.
When I try to connect with Mozilla I get "Mozilla and 10.x.x.x cannot communicate securely because they have no common encryption protocols"
SSL versions 2 and 3 are enabled by Mozilla. The only thing I can't do is generate a server key file /etc/cups/ssl/server.key
How would I do this? Does CUPS automatically generate it?
Any help will be very welcome |

I did the old RTFM routine and fixed the problem above.
(See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=119317)
The printer works in all the command-line tools but no printers, classes, or jobs appear in the web interface. What gives?
I also found the cause of this other issue.
I had mixed Listen and SSLListen directives in my cupsd.conf (I figured I don't need SSLListen for localhost since it's not going across the network).
I think this is a bug in CUPS and I'm going to email their team.
