Ok i have a USB 2.0 80gig western digital external drive.
How do i get it running in fstab? this drive is used for most of my file swapping, progs, drivers, mp3, ect ect on my xp box and is formatted fat32 lsusb spit this out
Bus 002 device002:id 1058:0100 western digital technologies, inc
Any help would be greatly apprecieted

Currently, USB mass storage devices appear as SCSI disks. In addition to FAT32 and USB (and USB mass storage support, of course), you also need the following SCSI options enabled in your kernel (or built as modules):
CONFIG_SCSI (SCSI Support)
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SD (SCSI Disk Support)
After that, the external HD will show up as a SCSI disk device node (once it's plugged in and turned on). If you don't have any other SCSI devices, it will probably be /dev/sda. From then on, you can work with it as you would any other hard disk. |
