Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster! I finally gave in after almost a year of utilizing a Gentoo server and decided to post because I was unable to find an answer.
So here goes my silly guestion:
I just started learning shell scripting and need to put some custom scripts in a place where they will be executed upon a user login. In case of RedHat the right place is in: /etc/profile.d directory.
What is such directory in case of Gentoo? |

I believe /etc/profile.d is the right place to put scripts to be run at user login. You may need to add a line to /etc/profile something along the lines of:
Code: | [ -f /etc/profile.d/bash-completion ] && source /etc/profile.d/bash-completion |
To get it to execute. Replace bash-completion with the name of your script of course. Hopefully someone with more experience in this can correct me if I'm wrong. _________________ We don't need no stinkin' signatures. |
