For some reason, I'm morally opposed to installing KDE or gnome (well, gconf mainly). I use openbox as my window manager and gkrellm for system monitoring. I know of a few weather plugins for gkrellm, but none of them have as much eye candy as the ones for gdesklets and karamba.

Does anyone know of a pretty weather app that doesn't depend on KDE or gnome?

Whatever reasons for not wanting to install KDE or Gnome I'm sure are just but does your discontent for KDE mean's you automatically don't like Trolltech's QT? Or Gnome's GTK2?

Those are what the weather applets use, so why try them out.

No. I have qt, gtk1.3, and gtk2 installed. These libraries have nearly no dependencies compared to KDE and gnome. I'm not a fan of big desktop environments because of all the libraries that they require. Maybe my reasons are unfounded, but KDE and gnome just scream bloat to me.
