|
|
I recently emerged supertux. I ran it afterwards, got a blank screen with a blinking white cursor.
Hit a bunch of keys, got to a prompt, logged in, rebooted. Or at least it started to, then stopped -- I hit the power button.
Turned computer on, it booted normally, got to the login screen (it didn't display my login manager as normal) tried to log in, but it paused for a second after I entered a user name, and went straight back to the prompt for a username. Did this indefinitely.
Rebooted via the power button. Now it stops mid-boot and says:
Code: |
VFS: Cannot open root device "hda3" or 03 :03
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03 :03
|
I've checked grub, according to that root=/dev/hda3. Which is correct. Uhh, could someone please help me out? |

Were you running the game SuperTux as root ? ( not good )
How does your fstab looks like ?
Was installing SuperTux the only thing you did ? because this looks like some sort of disk corruption. _________________ linux: #232767 |

okay, i dont know how SuperTux done it, but it seems your kernel seems to have lost it's filesystem code for your root filesystem...
boot up the livecd, chroot into your system, and just configure your kernel to support your root partition's filesystem (not as a module, it must be built into the kernel), and recompile and install it...
if you dont know what i mean by root filesystem:
root filesystem = your main parttion's filesystem, check /etc/fstab to see what your root parition is, and what it's filesystem is... |
