A week or so ago i did an "emerge sync && emerge -u world". It merged a lot of stuff (gtk, gnome, qt, and more). Now all of a sudden my X is very unstable. I've never seen it crash, but whenever i leave it on for a while (lock the screen (using xscreen saver) and turn off the monitor) and come back later, it is crashed (at a console). Here's the output (there's some other crap related to various apps i run in there, just ignore it):

Try a couple of things:
- Emerge nvidia-drivers. An upgrade to X might have cleaned them out.
- See if using a non-GL screensaver fixes the problem. If so, its your 3-d drivers that are borked.

I tried that. OpenGL works fine. I can lock the screen and get a 3D screen saver without problem. I've emerged nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx with no luck. did opengl-update nvidia, AND emerged xfree over again. _________________ . . . ..[ JeDi ].. . . . |
