Hello I am running a dual display G4 powermac and i have found when i load gentoo with my nvidia 4 card installed gentoo wont load. If i remove it and run on my rage 128 card in the pci slot i have no problems with gentoo . The nvidia card is in the apg slot . When gentoo boots it stops just before it tests for a second MP It does not recognize that cpu 1 is there.

Nvidia4 is not a supported card at this time, and moreso trying to run along with other drivers. PPC doesn't do very well (read doesn't work at all) running dual headed |

My advice is as follows:
rebuild your kernel to include _only_ support for your ATI card (not even open firmware video support) and go from there, should be fine (in theory) |
