Very painfull day today.
no devfsd so had no mounting of some partitions and a system that just plain would not go. Found that with devfsd-1.3.25 on it has a big problem with 2.4.19 kernel, or is it the other way around, bloody linux.
Thank god I could use the gentoo 1.2 cdrom to get inot the system and repair the damage.....
Hope noone else has this problem...

You should have been able to use the 'devfs=nomount' passed to your kernel to stop it from being used. |

Your right of course but the devfs system is soooooo handy.
That would of meant I could not use my cdburner, scanner, camera etc etc.
