1) Introduzione
x2x e' un programma che permette di utilizzare una tastiera e un mouse su due pc senza bisogno di hardware particolare (switch).
2) Installazione e prerequisiti
Per far funzionare questo utilissimo (IMHO) programma dobbiamo per prima cosa aprire la porta 6000 (X).
- aprire la porta 6000 per chi usa startx
Editare il file /usr/X11R6/bin/startx

[server-Standard]
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -nolisten tcp

[server-Standard]
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X |
- aprire la porta 6000 per chi usa gdm
Editare il file /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf

[server-Standard]
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -nolisten tcp
a
[server-Standard]
command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X |
- aprire la porta 6000 per chi usa gdm o kdm
Editare il file /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers
| Code: | cambiare da
:0 local /usr/bin/X11/X
a
:0 local /usr/bin/X11/X -nolisten tcp |
Ora possiamo installare il programma (da installare sulla macchina che ha mouse e tastiera)
3) Utilizzare x2x

Lanciando i seguenti comandi avremo 3 pc con un solo mouse e una sola tastiera:

master% x2x -from master:0.0 -to pc2:0.0 -east -resurface |

Esiste anche x2vnc che permette di fare la stessa cosa se una e' una macchina win e l'altra ha X.
