I'm not sure who mantains the vpopmail ebuilds or, seperately, the qmail ebuilds... but is it really necessary to keep changing things around? The qmail /service/ scripts have been poked and prodded at for a long time now, and today I find that mail is bouncing because -- randomly -- vpopmail started using ./.maildir/ instead of ./Maildir/. Frankly I'm willing to compensate for whatever the package maintainers want to do .maildir Maildir, a specific patch set... what I'm not willing to do is play "hide-and-go-seek the latest change that's going to break the mail server"
Are we all about ready to decide on one common, consistent qmail/vpopmail scheme, or are we going to play "lets try this today" some more? just so I know whether or not i should start using my portage overlay for qmail/vpopmail.
Disclaimer: I really _DO_ appreciate the maintainers of these ebuilds and ALL ebuilds, they keep gentoo going as a distro. Don't take this as a flame, but a voicing of frustrations and seeking of solutions.

and yes, i did see this, only much later... in an update world this isnt all that great...
