I installed Gentoo, the 16 meg dis, without any problems. Wow, this is a fast OS! I tried to emerge kde twice, but after three hours I got an aborting error. So I said screw it and rebooted (ms-windows answer to everything), and now when I try to emerge kde I keep getting this error:
root # emerge kde
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.2 to /
>>> md5 openMotif-2.2.2.tar.gz
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking openMotif-2.2.2.tar.gz
/usr/sbin/ebiuld.sh: /usr/portage/x11-libs/openmotif/file/animate-demo.diff: No such file or directory
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Funtion src_unpack, line -175, Exitcode 1
!!! patch failed
!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/x11-libs/openmotif-2.2.2.ebild
I went to /usr/portage/x11-libs/openmotif/file/ and there is not a file or directory call animated-demo
Any suggestions? I am pretty new to this Linux and emerge thing, basically I am lost. Thanks, mmurray . |

There is currently a problem where that diff isn't being circulated properly among the Gentoo mirrors. I would try emerge rsync again, and failing that, re-emerging KDE with "-motif" added to your USE variables. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
