I have setup an account for a friend of mine using proftpd.
The directory is /home/ftp
ls -ld /home/ftp gives
drwx--x--x 2 oswald ftp 4096 2004-01-05 23:15 ftp
The user oswald has write access to that directory, but oddly enough, if root creates a folder in this directory belonging to root (user and group), user oswald can still delete it. Is there a way to restrict these permissions?
Thanks _________________ Config - caught by a chronic disease called tuxmania.... |

I think putting up a ftpserver in linux is really confusing..
it would be much easier if the ftpserver controlled the rights and users within the ftpserver
instead of create a system account and then chmod, chown and all that ![Rolling Eyes ](images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) _________________ Bite my shiny metal ass! |
