ACPI cpu fan speed if fails send mail

i have a mailserver that is located in a dark room :twisted:

i want to send an auto mail when the cpu fan fails so i need to read the fan speed.

can someone help me on the way ?

What you need is to read the values of the sensors on your mainboard. I think this has nothing to do with acpi.

What you need is lm_sensors (emerge lm-sensors). These kernel drivers support a huge amount of sensor chips which are responsible for reading temperatures and fan speeds.
