i installed latest 2.6 kernel from the gentoo development sources now im getting a weird lag problem whenever i emerge something or run a few hdparm tests..
i have set hdparm and added it to default runlevel along with enabled preemtible kernel in the kernel config is there anything else i need to check for?
this usually fixed the problem using the 2.4.22 kernel so im at a loss of what to do now _________________ .. ...kemical. ... .. .. |

Could you be more specific about the problem?
You say you get a lag, what exactly do you mean and how does it manifest itself?

for example when i emerge a package and i move the mouse pointer it slows down to almost a stop, then speeds back up like the cpu usage is so high that it cant even smoothly move the mouse across the screen _________________ .. ...kemical. ... .. .. |
