Hey all,

I'm having a little problem with my shells. They open up in X with the following:

bash-2.05b$

I am finding myself doing the following everytime..

source /etc/profile

Just to get it to display what I want it to.

Anyone know how to fix this?
-Help much appreciated :D

Rhys

Your prompt? If you have anything in /etc/profile that makes it better looking you could copy that to ~/.bashrc. There's a big thread called... informative bash prompt or something you could search for if you're interested :)

usually just add "source /etc/profile" at the end of your .bashrc
(most of the shells grab .bashrc but not /etc/profile)
