Portage error (dependancy-related)

After upgrading portage from 1.9.2 to 1.9.3, I get an error about a missing file in /var/cache/edb/dep whenever portage attempts to calculate dependancies (the file is an ebuild called something like 'dep-name.of.the.package.ebuild', where of course name.of.the.package is the package to check deps for). And /var/cache/edb/dep does'nt even exist on my computer.

Can someone tell me what is causing this, and how to fix it?
