Modules won't load?? 2.6.1, module-init-tools 9.15 [solved]

I'm using the mentioned 2.6.1 kernel and the module-init-tools 9.15. However, on the box I installed it on it seems that lsmod returns no modules. Of course, the module for the ethernet adapter won't load and thus no internet. It doesn't give me any error messages about not loading any modules at bootup, though.

I was wondering if anyone would know why it won't load any modules. Does anybody know?

EDIT: Oops, I forgot to install hotplug.
