|
|
Hi
How to compile mplayer with dvd-support??
The error message is:
"MPlayer was compiled WITHOUT libdvdread support!"
What to do?
Btw. how do I specify "./configure --option" - the option parameter. If I want another option - how to set it then?
Thanks

add 'dvd' in your /etc/make.conf and reemerge mplayer. for more on useflags see: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/use-howto.xml _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

Add dvd to your USE setting in make.conf, eg:
Code: | nano -w /etc/make.conf |
Then add "dvd" to the USE statement, for example I have
Code: | USE="X kde qt gnome gtk gtk2 cups alsa dvd mysql" |
Then recompile / emerge mplayer and it should be working
I'd sugest using Xine for DVD playback as mplayer currently does not have working DVD menu selection, hence it's a little more tricky to playback DVDs than using Xine which has menu support as standard. |
