I use mozillafirebird and i think thats also what most people use.
Its the fastest and more compatible browser you can get for linux.
I also think Opera is very good.
have a look in /usr/portage/net-www _________________ linux: #232767 |

I use GNOME, so Epiphany is the natural choice. It uses the Mozilla rendering widget, but is lightweight and well-integrated with GNOME otherwise. _________________ Personal overlay | Simple backup scheme |

I use Mozilla 1.5 myself. I have used Konqueror a few times. Don't like it much. <throws up over here>

I use Opera when I start X, but most of the times I use Elinks or Links, beacuse they're so fast & simple.
cheers,

Epiphany personally.
It's a lot stripped down in comparison to Firebird, but because it isn't XUL powered, it feels a lot more responsive than Firebird.
And I've also been doing links -g -driver fb a lot lately as well, it's amazing how good of a webbrowser it is considering its origins as a text based browser. |

mozilla-firebird
It will compile and take a long time doing it!
But it's worth it. |

PS I use firebird as well and it's the best browser there is - period.
I use it in Gnome with the Mist theme & The Microfirebird theme in firebird = More screen real estate goes into the webpage. |

I use mozilla-firebird. It has all kinds of nice features. Though I'm still looking for a browser that loads webpages just as in Internet Explorer. I must say that I find that IE shows the webpages in the nicest way. MF has better features on the side, so to speak.
edit:
Gentoo_Turtle: I think the "only" advantage is that you can optimize the application for your hardware using the optimal CFLAGS. And of course you don't have compile time when installing the binairies. |

Regularily I use konqueror in kde-3.2-beta with khotkeys for mouse gestures. If I'm using gnome... epiphany with the mouse gestures extension. I guess if I used neither gnome or kde, I'd be using Mozilla Firebird. |

eek... IE! well, you can have IE6 quite fast running under wine. even it is working more properly under crossover (even with flashplugins etc.)
Have to check this one
good old Konqui, IMHO best Filebrowser (even if i use krusader more often)
but dont like it as Webbrowser. well maybe in KDE 3.2 its better
thats something a webbrowser dont have to have - for me. with my spastic use of a mouse, I would surf around without registering it mentally =)
firebird here. but i like mozilla, too. its big, it loads a long time but it is more stable IMHO. and has better plugins.
about firebird compiling: well, THAT needed a long time, but not to compare with KDE...
even then, self compiled mozilla firebird ROCKS: its fast, it integrates well with gtk, its even responding quite fast if I have 2 compilations running on tty1 and 2.
bad in firebird: no german localization as XPI available...
opera is great, especially for downloading (resuming, what a luxury!) but I hate banners showing girls in bikinis, devastating for my lousy concentration.
sometimes I use opera, especially downloading big things (I hate the File/Quit button in firebird, did I mention that?)
and sometimes I even fire up Internet Exploiter. just if some sites arent showing up themselves in mozilla. I hate that. |

Use MozillaFirebird here. I haven't found a better browser IMO (and I've tried most of them). I even use Firebird in Windows at work (great for blocking pop-ups). |

Konquerer on my desktop that has plenty resources. It's fast and looks good. I use opera on my old slow laptop because it's fast and with what seems like low overhead. If stuck at a terminal I like links because lynx sometimes has trouble downloading from ftp and it's page navigation is a little more logical to me. _________________ --You talk the talk, but do you waddle the waddle?
