I've compiled i2c into my 2.6.0 kernel. I've added everything as modules since I can't get it to work. When I try to modprobe i2c-core or i2c_core I get FATAL: Module i2c_core not found.

My mobo is an Soltek SL-75FRN2 with the nforce2 chipset. Has anyone else fixed this problem?

I don't see it there, but to be honest I'm not 100% sure of what I should be looking for.

My first thought was that you maybe forgot to 'make modules_install'.
But now I think you simply forgot to emerge module-init-tools, what is necessary for 2.6 kernels...

That's what it needed thanks. I thought I had it emerged, I thought wrong.
