Hi
Whenever I boot the alsasound boot script sets my mixer settings to the settings I setted up. As soon as I start KDE 3.3 all mixer settings are gone to zero. Sound per se works but I dont want to set the volume every time I start KDE I have no mixer applets/progs running in KDE. Even if I use the mixer applet the settings are gone at the next startup.
Software:
x11.org-6.8.0 (didnt work with 6.7.0 either)
kernel 2.6.8.1 - nitro 6
kde 3.3 (compiled without arts)
alsa 1.0.5 tools/utils

I had the same problem. IIRC, the following should help:
- start kde
- adjust settings with alsamixer
- run kmixer (and adjust settings further if needed)
Kde seems to load the kmixer settings upon session startup.
