Some info would not come amiss, either...

Do you mean you want to scrap this drive and start over?
Do you mean you want to juggle partitions and hope none are destroyed?
Or do you expect magic or some such ?

Note that "re-partitioning" generally means scrapping the drive, invalidating all data on it, and starting over.

If you want to juggle with partitions in-place then you might try "parted", but the risk is all yours - you get to keep both bits if it breaks.

To the best of my knowledge, you have 2 choices: You can use cfdisk to redo your partitions from the livecd and probably have to erase your partitions....or...

http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/parted.html

Code:
fux0red root # emerge -s parted
Searching...
[ Results for search key : parted ]
[ Applications found : 2 ]

*  sys-apps/parted
      Latest version available: 1.6.6
      Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
      Size of downloaded files: 1,225 kB
      Homepage:    http://www.gnu.org/software/parted
      Description: Create, destroy, resize, check, copy partitions and file systems

*  sys-apps/qtparted
      Latest version available: 0.4.0
      Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
      Size of downloaded files: 560 kB
      Homepage:    http://qtparted.sourceforge.net
      Description: QtParted is a nice Qt partition tool for Linux

I higly recommend backing up everything before using parted or qtparted! Good luck.

It sounds like parted will do what you want :) I'm going to do something kinda like what you're trying to do later on...I have a 40 gig hd with / , /boot and /home I'm going to take all of /home and move it onto an extra 80 gig hard drive. I wonder if /home can be spread across two hard drives?

What sarcasm ?

You would not be the first asking for magic to happen, and if you break your system with parted or anything else you really do get to keep all bits.

If you cannot converse without being deadly serious then that's entirely up to you, but don't blame it on me being supposedly sarcastic.

I'll even throw in a "please?" - I have absolutely nothing against you.
