Hello,
I have just followed the new installation guide. During the install I compiled the kernel manually and so did not use initrd in the grub config file. (Just as well as I don't know how to build an initrd file anyway)
But during boot I get an error that initrd can't be found. I guess this may be due to a kernel option that I have chosen requires initrd, but I do not know what this is likely to be.
Please can anyone suggest what might be the cause of this?

Oops.
As I posted this I see I have my root partition set to the wrong device
I have made a big mess of this install, so I am going to start agian
