Is it possible to use WPA wireless encryption with Gentoo? Is there an add-on that would allow it to be used or not? Is it available for any other distros? Thanks. |

Correct. WPA is a newer "improved" encryption protocol.

A quick search on google shows that linuxants windows ndis driver wrapper support windows drivers that expose WPA. So yes you can with any distro - however some peeps have a hard time setting it up.
And I've got no idea if the wireless-tools package supports WPA or not |
