Ok so over the past week my mother board died on my gentoo machine. So now I have a new one and must reinstall Gentoo. Does Gentoo now install with the 2.6 kernal?
Thanks! _________________ I could be outside but its sunny |

It's called development-sources. If you do a search, there are some threads on making the switch here in the forums. _________________ "There is no teacher but the enemy." |

What do you mean emerge by default? you have to pick gentoo-sources or whatnot while installing anyway...just substitute dev-sources instead
You can use bootstrap-2.6.sh as well although it's not necessary... |

Should install fine, it has worked for me. There is not default kernel, you just pick one, and since they always tend to say emerge gentoo-sources you think that is the default. For 2.6 kernels mm-sources, gentoo-dev-sources, development-sources. |
