I think you have to wait for the luser on the other end to see them, at which point they should go from your outbox to your sentbox. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Just to confirm what rac said, the difference between messages in your outbox and messages in your sent box is whether or not the recipient has received them in their inbox. (note: they don't actually have to view the message -- simply going into their inbox will transfer the message, even if they don't actually view the message itself. Subtle point.)

I just recocnized that all forum-internal messages I wrote since mid-july weren't sent. They are still in the "outgoing messages" (not the "send messages") folder.
/me was already wondering why he never got a reply to his messages...is this a bug? Someone experiencing the same? I didn't discover something like a "Send all this messages now"-Button. What can I do now ? _________________ Dort wo schwarzer Rauch aufsteigt, sich alsbald ein Fehler zeigt.

aah thx
oh and btw.
Some users have the rank "Bodhisattva". I always thought this would be the description for a user with a huge amount of written posts. But now I see that you "only" ( ) have 5xx posts. So what stands "Bodhisattva" for ? _________________ Dort wo schwarzer Rauch aufsteigt, sich alsbald ein Fehler zeigt.

A link was posted to a similar problem already.
To reiterate, by design a PM in phpBB is not sent until the addressee signs on.
So, message from "gentoo" > "user".
Gentoo: message in outbox.
User: offline, message not receieved.
<user comes online, checks PMs>
User: message appears in inbox
Gentoo: message is in sent messages. _________________ "Microsoft Palladium: where will we allow you to go today?" |

Thanks, and yep.. it bumped out my last PM. It would be nice if I had the option to deny PMs. |

Oh...I get it. It's not transferred to their Inbox until they go to their Inbox...therefore it stays in your Outbox. Not at all like email. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post, and help others.

|
|
I wrote a personal-message to another forum-member about 18 hours ago, & it still appears to be in my outbox, as opposed to my sentbox.
Is it possible to confirm whether or not it's been sent, & if not, how i can force it's departure & what might have caused the hold-up? If the moderators don't have access to user's mailboxes, please let me know if more information is required...
Thanks in advance _________________ "Anyone who goes to see a psychiatrist should have their head examined!"

When you send a PM is goes into your outbox (where it can still be edited or deleted) once the recipient has checked their messages it'll move to your sentbox. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

Thanks, i've learned something new today. Marking thread [SOLVED].
EDIT: This post & the preceding two were part of a thread i started, & now appear to have been merged with an existing thread that i was unaware of - so the "Marking thread [SOLVED]" portion no longer applies. Damn! I thought i was getting better at this forum-searching business. _________________ "Anyone who goes to see a psychiatrist should have their head examined!" |
