Hi,
I use fluxbox and xdm. I was wondering if anyone knew how to customize the butt ugly xdm login box?

| Try other login manager, like gdm or kde or really cool entrance /you must ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"/. I dont think that it is possible to change xdm look. |

You can do some customization to XDM by editing the config files in /etc/X11/xdm. However, it's much more simple to switch to another display manager, since XDM configuration is much like the resource configuration in X. |

try this:
I use xorg-x11 (if you're still using xfree, i recommend switching, but the following shoudl be quite similar)
1) xdm configs are housed in /etc/X11/xdm
2) default login graphics are in /etc/X11/xdm/pixmaps
3) the settings for the login window are in /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources
4) change the value for xlogin*logoFileName to some image you want to use
Just check out the other settings to change the background etc
