It compiled just fine and rather painlessly. But now that I load it as my kernel, I have two problems.

The first is that the bootsplash does not work. It's compiled into the kernel, but I don't get /proc/splash, nor do I get errors. /etc/init.d/bootsplash start gives no errors, and nothing in dmesg.

The second is that XFree no longer works. The log file goes as far as "Initializing built-in extension RANDR".. which is the last step before loading the keyboard and mice.

And I also have a problem unrelated to the love sources. My pointer doesn't move when I use the touchpad until Gnome starts, which makes it a pain to do a shutdown/restart while logged off.

Thanks for any help.

I don't use love sources.

1. did you remove all drivers for Xfree from the kernel?
2. did you try gpm in console for the mouse pointing at your device?
