kill -l lists 63 signals

I just need one of them doing what I ask

can not believe none works :wink:

I always had the thing in my head that , graphical apps depend on X server if X is dead all the apps that depend on it should be dead.

But anyway I will love your idea to be true ;)

well, i can restart my wm keeping my apps well and alive

but I acknowledge that X could be a little more tricky :D

You might be able to send SIGUSR1 or SIGUSR2 to the X server's process; that might cause the server to restart.
