i bought a X-Micro usb wlan adapter. i want to use it with my laptop. it is SIS650 based(if i'm right) . the usb controller worked fine till now with the ohci driver. i have all sorts of usb stuffs and never had problems getting them to work, untill now. when i insert the card i get the following result:
Jan 15 00:28:37 hal kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 5
Jan 15 00:28:38 hal kernel: usb 2-1: device not accepting address 5, error -110
Jan 15 00:28:39 hal kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
Jan 15 00:28:42 hal last message repeated 2 times
Jan 15 00:29:09 hal kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: new USB device on port 1, assigned address 6
Jan 15 00:29:09 hal kernel: usb 2-1: device not accepting address 6, error -110
Jan 15 00:29:10 hal kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
this a kind of short but beliewe me it can be pretty long. this is now withkernel 2.6.1
i tried it with 2.6.0. the result is the same... even moere errorish like messages
it works fine on my other pc with uhci driver different chipset on an intel chipset based asus board, i need to pass noapic to kernel though. so if anyone has some idea on how to solve this i would be very happy. and not by downgrading to kernel 2.4.x |
