|
|
Hi,
I've installed Gentoo Linux with kernel 2.6 and now want to install kde. When I try to emerge kde, i get the following error message:
configure: WARNING: alsa 0.9 support not found
configure: error: *** Neither solaris nor ALSA audio support was found, aborting...
!!! ERROR: media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.80.0 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 399, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed.
I've compiled the kernel with ALSA support, i've also emerged ALSA, which ran ok. ALSA and kde are both set in the use variables in make.conf.
Can anyone help me here?
Thanks,
Rindi |

You should have posted this question in the category "Desktops" and not "Installing Gentoo." In the "Desktops category you are more likely to have experts answering your questions. |

Add -jack to your USE flags.
Not the prettiest way, but this will allow you to finish emerging KDE.
(Note that this would exclude support for jack-audio-connection-kit, in case you had the intention of using it. If that is the case, disregard this post.) _________________ Hello. |

I personally gave up trying to emerge jack-audio-connection-kit, but bug #35674 may give some clues to solving the problem. _________________ Hello. |
