|
|
For a while, I had the experimental XServer (from freedesktop) ebuilds, which basically was an X Server, with an alpha layer. Well, after a while, I decided I didn't need it, and removed it. Now most all programs complain about not being able to find in /opt/fd0/lib/libICE.so.0. I did a locate for libICE, and found libICE.so.6 is in /usr/X11R6/lib.
I was wondering if there's a way to tell programs to look for the old, libICE.so.6, rather than the libICE.so.0 that isn't there anymore, with out recompiling them all. Yes, I've run etc-update, and ldconfig. Any help would be appriciated. |

MighMoS,
It looks like you luck is in Quote: | lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Jun 16 2003 /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so -> libICE.so.6.3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Jun 16 2003 /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 -> libICE.so.6.3
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 94917 Jun 16 2003 /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6.3

libICE.so and libICE.so.6 are both symbolic links to libICE.so.6.3.
Try adding them in by hand. I suspect you have lost other symlinks too. _________________ Regards,

Yes, but the programs are looking for libICE.so.0. Would it be safe to symlink them, if they're provided by different packages? |
