And it's driving me round the bend...I can't reset it usingthe reset button or by using the pingto method documented by Alcatel.
My only option left is to try and crack it using a cracking program.
Does anyone know what the best way is I could achieve this.
Cheers.

That is very unlikely - you probably mean the EXPERT password, which never changes. |

Ah you are from Holland...if you are on MXStream advanced with Planet Internet or XS4ALL you get a Speedtouch Home, don't you?
I know so, because I got this thing with MXSTREAM advanced using Planet Internet...
Anyway...I'm now in Merry old England and I "hacked" this thing to a Speedtouch PRO....however...because the wiriing on a Pro is different....the reset button no longer works.
God knows why PINGTO won't reset it anymore but it doesn't. I have tried and tried. It doesn't work.
So I only have 2 options left....
1. Crack the password
2. Open it up and short circuit the thing somewhere.
Considering I don't have the spare cash at the moment to buy a new ethernet modem, I don't like the idea of opening it up if I make a pigs ear of it. |

Yehaaaaaaaa.
Great...didn't know you could do that.....
Apparantly it the IP address of thing can be changed by doing some kind of PINGTO....which is all I wanted to do in the first place..
Now I'm rocking. |
