hi there. i've got troubles with my new intel d865gblfk with pentium4 and sata harddisk.
i tried to boot from the last stable live-cd (kernel 2.4.2x) using smp (normal hangs). but it can't detect the intel gigabit-lan chip and it can't format the sata harddisk using mke2fs or mkreiserfs (there is an interrupt problem filling the whole screen ). partitioning the harddisk using cfdisk was no problem.
then i tried to boot from the newest 2.6-live-cd, but it hangs just after the boot screen. don't know why.
knoppix was able to detect all of the onboard stuff (vga, sound, lan). it's nice to work with it. but when i try to access the sata-harddisk, sometimes the computer hangs. sometimes when mounting a partition on the sata hd sometimes while bootstrap is writing to the harddisk.
any suggestions?
