i just can't seem to get a cd to mount correctly after switching to 2.6. here's some of the things i've tried. first, i compiled the kernel with scsi emulation just like i did with 2.4 and here's what it get:

hdc: ATAPI reset complete
hdc: lost interrupt |
after this i lose control of the console where i typed the command and can't reboot without hitting the power button
next i tried a kernel without scsi emulation, using only ide-cd. when i try to mount i get a similar error except this time with a bunch of lines involving ide-cd and not scsi modules. i'd copy it to here, but this error also comes with a kernel panic. i checked in /var/log, but the crash didn't get logged.
i've tried a variety of combinations of kernel arguments also:
- ide-scsi
- ide-cd
- nothing at all
anyone have any ideas? |

Hi beesea,
i had not the excactly same but a similar problem.
See my thread here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=124467
Hope this helps. I just had to configure the hdparm configuration.
