|

Hei. I'm new to gentoo and linux and I'm doing the install for the fourth time, but I'm not giving up. I still havent understood the etc-update code yet. It has fucked up my gentoo three times, once when I had it running. My question: Is it possible to replace the files that etc-update updated for me again( I did some wrongs in the merge bit). In startup it repports that /sbin/rc and /etc/init.d/checkfs have errors. I'm sure more of them have errors but I don't know how to fix it since I took a bit from the old and a bit from the new, without really knowing what I did
Do I have to install one more time, or just wait some days so I can run emerge -u world and a new etc-update? |

You can always run an emerge -De world which will reemerge everything needed for the ebuilds listed in your world file.
Thus you'll be able to update your config files to the correct version after it has finished. _________________ Join the adopt an unanswered post initiative today |
