my bootstrapping fails, i have got no idea what i can do about it ??

the undefined reference to errno may be a linux-headers problem. Are you using linux-2.6.0 headers?

well how would i know since i dont even have the kernel uncompressed ??
my guess is that there is a problem with my USE flags in make.conf but im not quite sure

Do you have ACCEPT_KEYWORDS set in your make.conf?

Also, you can try various settings in your make.conf and
Code:
emerge zlib

until you figure out which settings work. Then just rerun the bootstrap script and it will pick up with the next package.

I had the same problem, solved it by reducing the number of concurrent compilation (MAKE_OPTS="-j2" was -j7)
