|
|
Hi, I have just finished a install of Gentoo, and I like what I see!
However, a couple of questions, if I may!
1.) I require postfix installed, not a problem there, I have emerged Postfix, but I need to have it with SASL support as my mailserver upstream will not allow relay without it. So how do I install Postfix with SASL support in Gentoo? And get POP3/IMAP access, which package should I emerge for that (IMAP package?)?
2.) How can I get the screen to clear all messages when it boots up? I mean when the init.d runs, it presents the login prompt without clearing the screen, the same when a user logs out.
3.) On boot up, I get a message that fsck is unable to checka volume because fsck.xfs not found. How do I clear that?
I am sure there are more questions, but I must do some searches, and right now I need sleep!!!!
Many thanks for any help you can offer,
Michael.... |

Ad 2) Open /etc/conf.d/local.start and add as last command 'clear'. This should do the trick.
Ad 3) Not sure, but i guess emerging 'xfsprogs' should sort that out.
Ad 1) No idea whatsoever, sorry. |

Answer to 1) Add 'sasl' to your USE flags in /etc/make.conf and re-emerge postfix. |
