I have very recently built a 1.4 Gentoo system starting from stage1 on a *86 machine, decided the distro was great and wanted to put it on my ibook2 700 '02 w/ 640megs. I started out with stage one, tried to emerge the system, no success (can't compile, errors include all from gcc problems to seg faults). Went to stage2, same problems. Tried from the stage3 system to build a kernel and I keep getting tons of the same seemingly bogus errors. The errors never seem to occur on the same files, so I am totally lost on how to properly report this as a bug.

starting with the stage3-ppc I am able to compile apache and possibly others without error, but still not the kernel using benh & gentoo sources. Still getting strange errors that are never the same.
